Bye Villa! Hello Cesc!

No Sacrifice, No Victory!

European champions Barcelona could opt to sacrifice their star striker David Villa, in order to finance their potential triple transfer coup.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Catalans conceded that they'll have to sell Villa, who joined the side a little over a year ago for £35m from Valencia, in order to fund a potential £91m swoop for Cesc Fabregas, Alexis Sanchez and Giuseppe Rossi. Due to the £350m debt laden on the Spanish giants, the champions have been forced to sell-to-buy.

Will they be able to play together for Barca?

Arsenal whose valuation of Fabregas is £40m, have been told that they'll have to settle for £35m for the ex-Barca youth-team midfielder. However, a cash-plus-player deal could settle the deal. Pep Guardiola's side are also the front runners to sign Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez, for a reported £27m, along with Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi for £26m.

At the moment, Chelsea and Manchester City are the two sides who could meet the fee demanded for Villa.
The Daily Mirror's source revealed, "Guardiola has a list of players he is prepared to move on to give him more spending power in the transfer market, but Villa is definitely not on that list.

"Ideally, he wants to keep Villa - especially after the impact he made in his first campaign with Barca. He sees David as a big player as his side push for more trophies next season.

"But he also knows that he may have to sacrifice Villa to finance incoming deals. And Manchester City and Chelsea would be very happy to buy Villa."

In his first season at Barcelona, Villa scored 23 goals, helping the team to the La Liga title as well as Champions League glory.
